- French officials said the target of Wednesday’s raid was Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the suspected mastermind of Friday’s attacks that left 129 dead and hundreds injured, but it was unclear if Abaaoud, who was previously believed to have possibly plotted the attack from Syria, was in the apartment.
- A man who says he lives in the apartment says he let some people stay there as a favor and “didn’t know they’re terrorists.”
- Witnesses to Wednesday’s raid described hearing a series of explosions and sporadic gunfire which went on for several hours.
- No police were killed in the raid, although some suffered minor injuries and a police dog was killed when the female suspect detonated her homicide vest.
